Adopted motivational and management strategies to achieve set goals and persevere whilst keeping positive and professional.  14 year policing career (Queensland Police Service), 10 years on the Australian Swimming Team representing Australia across Australasia, Europe and the Americas.  Swimming career highlights included six (6) world records and a silver medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

 

Always display high level of professionalism with integrity, honesty and sincerity never being questioned.  Sought qualifications externally at own expense in order to pursue a career in Education and Training within the Police including Diploma of Management and Certificate IV Training and Assessment.  Due to complete Bachelor of Education (USQ) with a major in Primary studies in June 2016.  Currently working full time as Acting Sergeant/Officer in Charge of the Petrie Education and Training Unit.

  • 14 years’ experience in Queensland Police Service and have developed exemplary communication and interpersonal skills to enable me to communicate effectively with people from a cross-section of the community.
  • Successfully self-managed the 2011 Queensland Police and Emergency Services Games with 1000 competitors and 30 sports across the state with a budget of approximately $90,000.
  • Proactively implemented, coordinated and managed the inaugural ‘I Practice Safe Cyber' Youth Festival.  A crime prevention and educational initiative consisting of markets, educational marquees and a skate scooter and BMX competition.  The night youth festival consisted of a music festival (as an initiative as the local Adopt-a-Cop).
  • Rescued female from the ocean whilst on patrol at Tannum Sands in February 2010. Female had fallen off kayak 400-500m out into the ocean from the mouth of the river.  Nominated by Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club for a community award.  Nominated by OIC POLI for a QPS award.
  • Won selection on merit Senior Constable Education and Training Officer Position in 2009.
  • Passionate about the continuous improvement of individuals and the workplace as well as the development of others.
